SRG is working with a global and leading Consumer Healthcare company. They are looking for a Senior Development Scientist - Analytical to join their busy team.
As Analytical Senior Development Scientist (Oral Care), you will be supporting new product development with broad analytical experience to deliver innovation from early-stage method development to downstream validation and transfers to supply sites. The role will involve working with cross functional project teams, as well as the analytical community, to problem-solve and deliver technical strategies to Global launches on international brands such as Sensodyne.
Responsibilities:
Being an analytical expert and key point of contact for the development team, advising on relevant strategies and managing workstreams in new product development project
Develop, validate and support analytical methods and formulation, following relevant business, regulatory and consumer requirements.
Independently designing experiments and carrying out scientific work to deliver overall project objectives
Work closely within cross-functional team to define and implement innovative solutions
Creating, reviewing, and approving key documentation, such as accurate experimental recording, validation protocols and reports, commercial production documents, contributing to regulatory submissions and project reports
Setting and refining priorities, assessing, and communicating risks, as necessary to remain focused on objectives, quality requirements and project milestones under rapidly changing circumstances
Producing effective technical papers/presentations and tailoring messages to a variety of audiences, both expert and naïve.
Manage a broad array of analytical data types, working with analytical data collection and storage systems, performs comprehensive, sophisticated and critical evaluation
Provides scientific expertise to risk management and trouble-shooting investigations
Acts as mentor/coach for more junior development scientist
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related discipline
Proven previous experience in Pharmaceuticals, OTC or FMCG or relevant industries.
Knowledge of cGMP requirements related to analytical chemistry within product development.
Proven track record of using experimental design, measurement, and interpretation in the development of new products and/or the invention of new systems
Hands-on knowledge and experience in the following techniques: Quality by Design & risk assessments, IC, UPLC, HPLC, GC and/or MS.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability using innovative thought and good scientific judgment
Excellent written and oral communication skills for engaging with stakeholders in all levels
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Nutrition or related science, or relevant practical work experience
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and product development process
Experience as technical lead on project, managing risk and stakeholder communications.
Specialised expertise in other analytical techniques such as ISE, XRF, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, ICP or Raman spectroscopy.
