SRG are currently working with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Macclesfield, looking for multiple QC Laboratory Technicians (Chemistry) to join the team.

Our clients Macclesfield site is their second largest manufacturing site and the largest UK based campus, from which medicines are manufacture, packaged and distributed to over 130 countries globally.

The role

Due to expansion of the business, our client currently have multiple opportunities for Quality Control Chemistry Technician to formally clear or reject products from the Quality Control laboratory teams against agreed Quality Standards within agreed customer service lead times.

Based in the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) laboratories, you must have the flexibility to work within any one of the testing or environmental monitoring teams and you must be prepared to work in an aseptic environment and successfully acquire an aseptic license.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for formally clearing or rejecting products, materials, and laboratory results against the agreed Quality Standards to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of these products to the customer or user.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate quality systems are followed in order for the laboratory to meet its responsibilities with respect to GCLP (Good Control Laboratory Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Safety, Health and Environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A level Chemistry minimum or equivalent or equivalent in experience
  • Practical laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of cGLP and GMP
  • Understanding of SHE principles
  • Ability to work independently out of hours

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Degree in a Chemistry subject area or equivalent in experience
  • Aseptic techniques and clean room experience
  • Building emergency coordination
