HSE Manager - new job in Essex, UK

A very important vacancy for an equally important client of mine.
HSE is everywhere now and paramount to site successes and my client, based in Essex is looking for senior HSE Manager to come a drive standard at site.

Salary: £75,000 to £80,000 (12% bonus, pension, and Health Care)
SRG are working with a well-established chemical company that are looking to add to their high performing senior management team. This HSE role will be a days-based position at their site in Essex, Monday to Friday with flexible working hours (but no working from home).
Purpose of the role
To provide technical and management advice and support on the health, safety and environmental (HSE) aspects and risks associated with the Company's assets, facilities, operations, and activities in terms of industry best practices and compliance with relevant applicable Regulations and Company Standards.
Role / Description
- Proactively provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on areas within the job holder's jurisdiction for example, legal compliance, process safety and occupational health.
- Manage the SHE functions to ensure that safety, health, and environment management systems are in place and kept up to date.
- Ensure that all necessary regulatory permits, licences, consents, authorisations (including planning consents and licences) are obtained and that any operational conditions are complied with.
- Provide reports to senior management and other key stakeholders as required.
- Develop and monitor appropriate environmental and occupational health monitoring systems/programmes.
- Develop and manage appropriate training and auditing procedures for the site Safe Work System.
- Lead the investigations into accidents and incidents as required, assisting with the management of the reportable injuries process to ensure effective and timely investigation of incidents and reports to the relevant authorities.
- Identify safety training needs and develop and manage the delivery of appropriate plans.
- Participate in project teams for new and modified plants and processes to ensure that they comply with health and safety law, codes of practice or industrial standards.

- Keep abreast of new/changing legislation, company standard updates and industry best practice.
Requirements
HSE experience in a chemical or process related industry (ideally gained at an Upper Tier COMAH site) with detailed knowledge of current health and safety and environmental legislation and its application.
- Educated to degree level in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related discipline.
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ level 5 in occupational safety and health)
- Experience of implementing and maintaining SHE management systems
- Sound communication, report writing and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
- Self-motivated, excellent organisational and analytical skills
