SRG is delighted to be partnering with a Cambridge based biotech to support their search for a cell biologist to support their preclinical drug discover projects. This is fantastic opportunity to help establish a tissue culture facility and as part of the role you will be supporting the assay development and execution of high content screening assays.
Key Responsibilities
Establishing and maintaining the tissue culture facilities
Generation and maintenance of cell line banks
In vitro phenotypic, omic and biochemical assay development and data generation
Carrying out risk assessments for relevant activities and working within Lab, Health and Safety policies covering all aspects of laboratory work
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic records and documentation
Working closely with data scientists to establish procedures for data utilisation
Ideal candidate:
Essential:
BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in a biology-based discipline.
Experience working in a drug discovery environment evaluating drug pharmacology
Expertise in tissue culture
Experience in the development of cellular and biochemical assays suitable for evaluating relevant properties of drug molecules under development
Experience of validating biochemical and cellular assays to permit high-throughput screening of test compounds in 96 and 384 well formats
Desirable:
Previous experience with High content imaging assays such as cell painting assays
Experience with gene editing technologies (e.g. CRISPR-Cas9, siRNAs, etc),
Culturing of iPSCs
