QA/QC Technician required based in West Yorkshire. Requiring a background in Science (preferably food/beverage and in particular microbiology) within Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC).

Salary: ~£13 per hour (40 hours per week)

SRG are currently working with a well-established, award winning brewery in West Yorkshire. Having a history spanning over 150 years, the business is continuing to grow. Due to this continued growth and an increasing workload, they are now looking to add a QA/QC Technician to their quality team on a full-time basis. The role will involve testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products through both chemical and microbiological analysis. This role will suit candidates that hold experience of Microbiology testing within a food or beverage industrial setting.

Benefits: This will be a full-time position (40 hours a week) with the potential to offer training within a specialised environment for the right candidate.

Role / Description:

Working alongside a technical team of Brewers, the main responsibilities of this position would be to analyse raw materials, spring waters and finished products, utilising the following techniques:

  • Spectrophotometry
  • pH
  • ABV
  • COD
  • Yeast Counts
  • Microscopy

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting Microbiological samples for 3rd party testing
  • Analysis of Bacteria & Yeasts
  • Effluent stream testing
  • Maintenance & calibration of equipment

**Please note - This position may require the successful candidate to taste Alcoholic Beverages**

Requirements

  • Proven background in Science is essential (either through education or work history)
  • Proven industrial experience within food, Beverage or Brewing (microbiology testing)
  • Previous laboratory experience within a similar environment is also desirable.
