Mechanical Design Engineer - new job in Cardiff, UK

SRG are currently partnered with a medical device company that are developing a wide range of equipment to maximise the safety of surgical procedures. The client are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company making pioneering advancements within their niche of medical device products.
The successful candidate for this role will have the following experience and qualifications:
* Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years' industrial experience in a design role in a consultancy or engineering environment.
* Strong competence in designing electromechanical assemblies in Solid Works.
* Experience of designing to current methods of manufacture of small-scale metal and plastic components.
* Detailing to BS 8888 and geometrical tolerancing.
* Working knowledge of risk reduction techniques (e.g. DFMEA, fault tree analysis).
* Experience of product development within a controlled development environment (medical, aerospace etc.), ideally to ISO 13485 Medical Device Development and ISO 14971 Risk Management requirements
Responsibilities of Position:
* Work with the Project Lead and design team to create and develop concepts to meet the User and Functional Requirement Specifications
* Produce design sketches, concepts, drawings and CAD models that are accurate and describe fully the design intent.
* Planning, designing and executing technical feasibility, verification and validation tests.
* Providing expert technical input into the design transfer process to commercial suppliers.
