Shift Laboratory Technicians (X3)

Teesside

~£25/26 000 plus 18% shift allowance

6 months Temp contract (potential for extension and/ or go perm)

SRG are working with a highly successful, global company that develops and manufactures products and chemicals for use in various water treatment applications. As a result of investment and growth in their business, they are now looking for Shift Laboratory Technicians to join their team of shift chemists on an Upper Tier COMAH production facility. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Work shifts - days and nights, Monday to Saturday morning

Role/Description

  • Support necessary environmental testing in line with the site's permit requirements
  • Support testing and qualification of raw materials and manufactured products
  • Help ensure all lab and monitoring equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Prepare any chemical reagent standards necessary for in-process and finals testing
  • Support troubleshoot process chemistry issues in collaboration with production
  • Maintaining laboratory ISO 9001 standards
  • Any other related duties to be performed as required

Requirements

  • Ideally a degree in Chemistry (or similar) - HNC in Chemistry (or similar) as a minimum
  • Ideally have worked in industry (can be during a placement year) in a chemicals or production plant laboratory
  • Practical experience of HPLC and other analytical and wet chemistry techniques
  • Good and effective communication skills
  • A willingness to engage with colleagues, and build and maintain good working relationships is essential
