Job Title - Analytical Scientist
Location - Sandwich, Kent
Contract - 18 months
Pay - PAYE £16.22 to £18.71 p/h, Umbrella £18.17 to £20.97 p/h
SRG are working with a global leading pharmaceutical company that are seeking a Analytical Scientist to join their busy team.
The Materials Characterisation Team are looking for an analytical scientist to support the application of analytical methods to understand chemical properties of a broad range of pharmaceutical materials (including coatings and capsules).
Key responsibilities:
- Determination of chemical profiles of pharmaceutical materials (including tablets and capsules) to enable understanding of composition and impurities.
- Support the development and application of chromatographic methods for the quantitation of small molecule impurities.
- Development of appropriate sample preparation methods.
- Execution of accelerated drug product stability studies, including trending of assay, impurities, dissolution, disintegration, and water content data for a range of drug product formulations.
- Perform experiments in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP), established business processes and protocols, and applicable SOPs.
- Identification of (and laboratory investigations for) atypical analytical results.
- Troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
- Document laboratory work in a detailed, clear and timely manner, in compliance with GLP requirements.
- Selection of appropriate presentation techniques for analytical datasets in order to deliver concise headline results to stakeholders in a timely
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant scientific field.
- Strong theoretical understanding of chromatographic methods (i.e., HPLC).
- Practical analytical laboratory experience in the preparation of analytical solutions.
- Experience with chemical characterisation of pharmaceutical materials (including capsules and coatings)
- Practical experience in HPLC/UPLC, including method development & validation.
- Practical experience in other analytical methods, including dissolution, Karl Fischer and ICP-MS.
