Development Chemist required in Tonbridge, Kent. Previous experience and strong chemistry background essential.

Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG are working with an innovative, award-winning UK company specialising in extraction of natural hop aromas and flavours for the brewing industry. They are looking for an experienced Development Chemist to join their lively Technical team in Tonbridge, Kent.
The role will involve product development from conception into viable commercial product, as well as scale-up production and carrying out in-process analysis. This role would suit someone with experience in process chemistry or new product development in an industrial chemical, with a familiarity in common analytical chemistry techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Be proactively involved in project briefings.
- Be involved in new product development, from conception to production into viable commercial product.
- Carry out in-process analysis, including sample preparation and interpretation of results.
- Formulating new and existing products.
- Conduct laboratory and production trials.
- Support scale up projects.
- Problem-solve any issue from existing product formulations and manufacturing methods.
- Contribute to the preparation of quality documentation as required to manage changes, unplanned deviations and corrective actions.
- Maintain good standards of housekeeping, and waste disposal, liaising with other departments dealing with such matters as required.
- Work closely with technical report team to report findings accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with external stakeholders for better understanding of current market and customer needs.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience of laboratory scale up operations.
- Experience in New Product Development.
- Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Chemistry or a closely related discipline, with minimum of two years of relevant industrial experience.
- An understanding of analytical chemistry, with sufficient analytical skills to conduct in-process testing.
