SRG are working with a leading research organisation with expertise in animal health to help them find a Portfolio and Research Funding Manager.

SRG are working with an established and leading research organisation with expertise in animal health to help them find a Portfolio and Research Funding Manager to join the team in an exciting role.
They are looking for someone with a background in microbiology/ virology/ immunology as well as experience of working in a commercial capacity.
This role is suitable for someone with a strong background and ready to take the next step in their career as well as those with direct experience in a similar role.

The Role:
- Identify and protect new and existing intellectual property (IP) on an on-going basis and via periodic audits
- Develop and nurture commercial relationships across different areas of the business
- Manage and develop collaborative projects with commercial partners, funding bodies and external stakeholders to support IP and the commercial outputs of the organisation
- Support and deliver initiatives to develop licences, assignments and spin out companies
- Manager and take charge of contract negotiation, drafting and review with external stakeholders and partners
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in microbiology/ virology/ immunology or a related subject
- Extensive post-grad work experience with the majority of this being within a commercial environment
- Experience of commercial contracts, Intellectual Property (IP) and biological product lifecycles would be beneficial
- Experience of applying for funding in either a commercial or academic setting
- Able to build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and self-starter attitude
