The Role:

  • Support the development and implementation of departmental Quality strategy
  • Support the Head of QA in leading the day to day management of the operational performance of the Quality team focusing on Quality Assurance
  • Helping to support the manufacturing operational activities in all aspects of quality assurance
  • Support batch compilation activities
  • management responsibilities for QA officer and document reviewers within the QA team including performance appraisals and attendance management
  • Lead the Quality Assurance team with other department team leaders in the day to day activities associated with direct manufacturing activities and reporting of daily outputs to the quality management team
  • Act as the quality lead for projects as assigned by the head of department
  • Support the management of the organisational structures, policies, procedures and processes necessary to ensure effective, efficient and accountable use of resources within the QA department
  • Contribute to the continuing optimization of the core operational processes spanning departments within the company focusing on Quality Assurance
  • Lead internal audits and manage client/external audits where required
  • Lead training of more junior members of the QA team and elsewhere in the business
  • Support continuous improvement activities
  • Take responsibility for compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
  • Escalate an QA issues to senior management if required

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level- ideally within a relevant scientific subject
  • Experience working within a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience of leading a team
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and pharmacopoeia guidelines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate workloads to deliver on customer requirements
