R&D Study Lead - Biopharma

Do you have a strong understanding of making proteins via recombinant microbes? Are you looking to use your technical skills away from the bench? If so this role could be for you,

SRG are supporting a business who provide key services to the biopharma industry by creating enzymes and other protein based products with a site expansion and recruitment of a number of indivduals across multiple technical teams. Their products go on to support pharmaceutical, IVD and clinical chemistry around the world and have a huge impact across the industry.

This is a great opportunity for someone who may potentially want to move out the lab but maintain strong technical field expertise as you will be overseeing technical project proposals and act as technical project lead across the business. You will be working closely with customers to help them translate their needs to technical reality as well as keeping them updated with data and timelines to support their R&D needs.

You will:

  • Oversee projects as a technical SME
  • Be customer facing, keeping them up to date throughout the process
  • Work closely with the BD team to help with the onboarding of projects
  • Review data from the lab teams and present this back to the client
  • Collaborate across the business with other technical teams

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A relevant PhD (or other higher education) in biological/biochemistry related field
  • Excellent understanding of the USP and DSP process for making proteins and enzymes
  • Previous hands on experience in one of the relevant field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders as well as maintain your workload
  • Experience within GMP or similar standards will be advantageous
  • A solution orientated mindset, able to apply technical knowledge to creatively problem solve.
