E&I Field Technician
Job Title: E&I Field Technician - Global Biopharmaceutical
Contract: 12 months
Location: East Yorkshire, Humber
Salary: £30 - £35 per hour (Umbrella rate)
In this role, you will be responsible to support testing, calibration and commissioning activities of field instrumentation and LV electrical systems across the facility. The ideal candidate brings in-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, Field instrumentation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interact within a large CAPEX organization.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Support electrical subcontractor activities during Instrumentation Loop Checks
- according to company standards and can perform Loop checks by
- themselves.
- Performs parametrisation of field instrumentation, VFD's and any other
- supportive field devices.
- Perform diagnostics and small repairs on motors, variable frequency drives
- (VFD's), electrical and instrumentation panels and automation equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, machinery and control
- panels in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, loop drawings, electrical schedules and
- schematics to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with Company and
- British standards, Mentor and support junior electricians and maintenance staff.
- Perform calibration activities according to project needs.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction and production teams to deliver project goals.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidate Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized instrumentation/electrician apprenticeship or technical program.
- Electrical City & Guilds or other suitable NVQ qualification
- additional certifications in Automation systems are an advantage
- Strong background working with field instrumentation, low-voltage systems, motor controls (VFD's) and industrial automation (PLC's).
- Deep understanding of electrical codes, industrial safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical installation rules in ATEX environments
- Knowledge of industrial bus systems as e.g. Profibus DP, Foundation Fieldbus
- Knowledge of Calibration devices as e.g. temperature dry block, pressure gauge, Beamex loop tester etc. is advantageous
- Knowledge of Tools/Systems as e.g. paperless calibration tool CMX, paperless validation tool UBIK, COMOS, PactWare, Emerson AMS and DeltaV is a plus.
