The challenge
Following recent expansion and a new partnership, a world-class Medtech organisation reached out to Search by SRG to support with the appointment of a new Head of Quality Assurance (QA) and Regulatory Affairs (RA). The selected candidate would be responsible for leading both QA and RA functions in line with global activities and business expansion.
Given movement across the QA/RA team over the last 12 months, a committed Head of QA/RA was critical to ensure a consistent lead to assure product safety and compliance throughout the organisation’s product developments and growth.
The solution
An interim staff member was appointed after just 10 working days to replace the previous Head of QA/RA after their 2 month notice period to ensure business continuity across a critical business period.
This interim hire ensured that leadership in regulatory and quality assurance was maintained across all product families, enabling products to remain on target, and new products to continue on their pathways to market.
Meanwhile, we created an extended market map of QA/RA talent across Oxford and surrounding areas. By going further afield, we were able to maximise candidate options for the client, and ensure that the best possible hire was found. Alongside this work, we conducted competitor analyses on other software as a medical device companies, and aligned our search with the organisation’s diversity and inclusion initiative. Through this work, we promptly found and delivered a permanent Head of QA/RA with the relevant expertise and experience to succeed in role, resulting in a successful appointment.
The result
The result of this hiring strategy was a 100% fill rate, hiring an interim within 10 working days, and helping the client to retain business continuity.
We successfully delivered an interim leader to ensure business continuity across QA/RA within 10 working days. Meanwhile, we worked to secure a permanent shortlist, from where the permanent hire was selected within 4 working weeks. The appointed individual was retained, and remains in their position today.
