Are you a chemist, biochemist, graduate, PhD or postdoctoral researcher looking to take the next step in your scientific career? This is an excellent opportunity to join the development team of a successful and expanding contract manufacturing organisation based in the Central Belt of Scotland.

You'll be joining at an exciting time of growth, working with a global name in its field and contributing to the development and transfer of fit-for-purpose processes for customer projects. What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and carrying out experiments, analysis and development work to support effective technology transfer and process development.
  • Recording, interpreting and presenting data in line with relevant regulatory and quality standards.
  • Communicating with clients and internal teams to support project delivery.
  • Following laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and to a high-quality standard.
  • Troubleshooting scaled-up processes and supporting continuous improvement across development activities.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, quality and health and safety requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • A degree or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Relevant industry, academic or research experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of process development, protein structure and function would be beneficial.
  • Experience with protein purification techniques such as Tangential Flow Filtration, AKTA, chromatography or filtration would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of protein analytical techniques, including UV/VIS and HPLC, would be useful.
  • Experience in drug development, pharmaceutical or biotech environments would be desirable, but is not essential.

This role would suit someone with strong scientific curiosity, a practical approach to problem solving and an interest in applying their chemistry or biochemistry knowledge within a growing manufacturing environment. Candidates from industry, PhD or postdoctoral backgrounds will all be considered where they can demonstrate relevant technical knowledge and a proactive approach.
