Experienced Waste Chemist based in Greater Manchester

SRG are working with a leading privately owned large waste management company who are now looking for an experienced site Chemist to join the team to support in the day to day running of a new solids dissolving unit on plant. This is a hands-on role within the waste industry, you will be analysing, checking and testing incoming loads, processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, insuring segregation and storage of hazardous waste meets requirements, labelling waste and completing documents on all incoming and outgoing chemical materials.This role would suit experienced waste chemists or chemical process chemists with 2+ years of experience in industry.

Working Hours: 40 hour week - Monday to Friday, flexible start and finish times, 25 days holiday + bank holidays
Role / Description

  • Assess, segregate and route incoming hazardous waste through the dissolving plant
  • Operate chemical processing equipment safely and efficiently, following site procedures and safety standards.
  • Carry out testing and analysis on waste samples and processed batches.
  • Complete documentation, stock records and batch paperwork accurately.
  • Ensure processed waste is correctly labelled, stored and routed for onward treatment or disposal.
  • Support continuous improvements in plant performance, housekeeping and operational standards.
  • Co-operate with site management in improving the plants operational standards

Requirements

  • Minimum HNC in Chemistry
  • 2+ years' experience in the chemical processing industry
  • Willing to work outside in all weathers
  • Good work ethic, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn
  • Full right to work in the UK - There is no sponsorship available for this role
