Technical Administrator

Temporary contract (will run for 6 months with chance of going permanent)

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

SRG is working with a specialist researcher in the crop protection sector who are hiring for a new technical administrator. Initially the role would be temporary, running for 6 months, although there is a chance it could turn permanent afterwards. The role would suit someone with a degree or equivalent industry experience. Experience managing storeroom/inventory and/or working with risk assessments, SOP's and COSHH assessments would be advantageous. There will be an element of physically moving compounds around so it's important applicants are happy being on their feet for large parts of the day.

Role Description

  • Receiving and distributing deliveries of both consumables and compounds,
  • Generating purchase requests for laboratory and glasshouse consumables
  • Ensuring delivery of items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Manually weighing samples and carrying out regular stock takes
  • Maintaining an organised storeroom

Requirements

  • Education to BSc or NVQ level 6 in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience reading and understanding H&S related documentation such as risk assessments, standard operating procedures and COSHH assessments
  • Experience managing a storeroom or glasshouse would be advantageous, especially if using a commercial ERP system such as NetSuite
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Full right to work in the UK
