Senior Production Manager - Precision Manufacturing
We are currently partnering with a well‑established and growing precision engineering manufacturer to appoint an experienced Production Manager. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded engineering professional who wants to play a pivotal role in shaping operational performance and driving continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment.
In this role you will lead cross‑functional teams across Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Post‑Production and Shipping, while contributing at senior management level to business strategy and long‑term growth.
The Role
As Senior Production Manager, you will take full ownership of operational performance, ensuring efficient, safe and cost‑effective delivery of high‑quality products in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a senior leader, driving and championing the business strategy alongside the wider management team
- Leading cross‑functional projects and strategic continuous improvement / lean initiatives
- Delivering improvements in production efficiency, quality, on‑time delivery and cost control
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Leading, developing and motivating managers and supervisors to create a high‑performance culture
- Promoting employee engagement, professional development and succession planning
- Ensuring best practice in Operational Health & Safety
Essential Requirements:
- Third‑level Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 7 years' experience at management level within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading technical and operational teams
- Strong experience delivering lean / continuous improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a business partner at senior leadership level
- Experience working in a high‑volume or precision manufacturing environment
- Strong Health & Safety leadership experience
