The Role
As part of the site's utilities and engineering team, you will support the smooth and safe operation of the facility's critical utilities infrastructure. You'll be responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining essential systems such as HVAC, steam, water, gases, compressed air, waste, and fire protection. The role involves a mix of operations, troubleshooting, and first‑line maintenance, ensuring the plant meets uptime, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain utilities equipment to support continuous site operations.
- Respond to system alarms, diagnose issues, and take corrective action to minimise downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections, field rounds, and system readings.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in line with site procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work with maintenance, engineering, calibration teams, and external contractors to support planned activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, following permit-to-work and lockout/tagout processes.
- Maintain strong housekeeping standards across all utilities areas.
- Support ongoing improvements to reliability, performance, and safety.
Key Requirements
- Trade-qualified Technician in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a background in Marine Engineering.
- Strong understanding of utilities systems such as HVAC, steam, water, gases, and fire systems.
- Experience in a regulated, manufacturing, industrial, or marine environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing technical team.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices.
