Pay rate: £700 - £800p/d Via Umbrella
Location: Royston, UK
Job Purpose
We are looking for a Finance Controller for a client of ours that specialises in advanced chemicals, catalysts, and Platinum group metals, they are currently undergoing a sale process, transitioning a branch of the company to another.
During this period of significant organisational change, the business requires a Finance Controller responsible for overseeing several smaller global jurisdictions. These territories typically have low transaction volumes but limited local financial resources, making this role essential for maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding a strong control environment.
The regions in scope include Bahrain, Canada, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Principal Accountabilities
- Review and sign off month-end reporting, including balance sheet review.
- Manage relationships with external advisors for accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, and payment matters.
- Act as the key interface with Sector and Group Reporting.
- Primary contact for internal and external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with statutory accounting, governance policies, and internal controls.
- Maintain strong internal controls and drive continuous improvements.
- Oversee direct and indirect tax controls, including Transfer Pricing.
- Build collaborative relationships with Finance teams across both existing and new companies.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
- Bachelor's degree and relevant accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA).
- 10-12 years' experience in senior finance leadership roles within multinational environments.
- Proven track record in finance transformation and strengthening control environments.
- Experience in chemicals or automotive industries (desirable).
- Experience delivering strategic planning and performance-enhancing analysis.
