This role is responsible for development and execution of the Maintenance Strategy aligned to the overall Site Strategy and objectives whilst leading and developing the engineering team. Ensuring all site engineering activities are executed in line with company policies and objectives. Supporting delivery of the required products within budget, to quality specification, on time and in a safe manner in full compliance with legal and company requirements.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Degree in Mechanical, ECI or Chemical Engineering
- Extensive experience working within chemical industry, 5+ years senior management level in production related function
- COMAH experience (highly beneficial)
- Exceptional people management skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of maintenance strategy that ensures high levels of asset reliability and integrity
- Lead the engineering team on site and ensure continuous improvement in engineering performance and practices in support of the site strategy
- Ensure compliance to all site Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) procedures within area of responsibility
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory engineering requirements impacting the site
- Management of team through appropriate HR processes, including recruitment, appraisal, performance management, attendance and disciplinary
- Train and develop employees to create a high performing engineering team, ensuring a talent pool for succession
- Implement initiatives that will support continuous improvement in the manufacturing performance
- Develop and implement appropriate KPI's to support this objective
- Manage all engineering and energy costs centres within the agreed revenue budget, and take part in the annual budgeting process and delivery of any business improvement plans
- Take a lead role in development and ongoing management of the site capital project programme
- A key member of the site leadership team
