Head of Quality - new job in Edinburgh, UK

SRG are working with a global name in the biotechnology industry to help them find a UK Head of Quality which will be a key role for the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone with extensive experience within Quality Assurance in regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device or pharmaceuticals.

Although this is an established and successful organisation, you will also be welcomed to bring new ideas to the table and drive continuous improvement across the department and organisation as a whole.

Please note, some international travel will be required with this role.

The Role:

• Oversee all areas of Quality for the business, including QA, QC, Validation as well as Regulatory and Compliance
• Serve as a member of the Regulatory and Quality Management Team for oversight and guidance of the entire organisation on RA and QA strategy and activities
• Develop, manage and coordinate the operative Quality activities of the business that will deliver continued compliance with GMP and other regulatory requirements such as ISO 13485
• Work with the rest of the management team to formulate, implement and review strategic business plans
• Participates in operational and management teams and assists with the implementation of agreed policy and objectives to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Business.
• Drive a positive culture of Quality awareness, GMP, customer satisfaction, best practice and continuous improvement
• Ensure all processes and procedures align with relevant policies and regulations as required
• Ensure effectiveness & delivery of routine quality system functions, including QC testing, auditing (internal & external), GMP compliance and documentary control.
• Assist with monitoring trends across Quality to identify corrective or preventive actions needed.
• Participate in the selection, training and development of staff across the Quality function. Lead, motivate and encourage staff to ensure they are focused and successful in the team

Requirements:

• Relevant life science degree and/or technical background from the life science industry
• Extensive experience working and leading a Quality Assurance team/department
• Expert knowledge and practical experience of CE and/or FDA regulations, in a manufacturing environment
• Experience implementing Quality and Regulatory systems and processes in line with regulatory requirements, ideally in an FDA licensed facility
• Prior experience working as a Senior Manager
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and novel ways of working to drive success
• Able to maintain strong business relationships with other areas of the organisation
• Highly organised and driven
• Strong communicator who can deliver a message across all areas and levels of a business
