Job Title: Laboratory Sorting Technician Location: Chester (Must be able to drive) Employment Term: Permanent Salary: £19,950 Benefits: Free BUPA and Dental and regular training and pay reviewsSRG are working with a Research Organisation who are currently recruiting Laboratory Technicians within their Flow Cytometry team. The company is currently expanding due to a significant increase in business post EU Exit. The key objectives in this role are to perform QA&QC testing on biological samples, this role is hands on the bench learning new techniques like Flow Cytometry.The Role

  • Analysis and evaluation of sperm cells after collection from stud.
  • Carry out full conventional semen processing dilution/fill and freeze.
  • QA checks on every step of the production process and review to continuously improve process and output.
  • Support maintaining semen quarantine store inventory control and release to distribution.
  • Carry out bacteriology testing.
  • Input data on to relevant QA/QC system.
  • Daily reports to the Lab Services Supervisor to include issues pending and bull sperm quality issues.
  • Maintain the workflow, manage the tasks, and take care of the equipment and tools linked to the role, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean working environment.

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience working in a biology-based laboratory and basic laboratory skills.
  • Previous knowledge and/or experience in the principles of flow cytometry.
  • Previous experience with sperm and AI biology.
  • Experience of a commercial production environment.
