SHE Manager - new job in Runcorn, UK
SHE Manager required for a busy Chemical Plant based in Runcorn!!

This role will be to provide professional SHE Management, technical advice and expertise within company operations; to co-ordinate and implement SHE management policies and procedures within a strict regulatory framework with specific emphasis on work management & control; human factors; transport safety; and behavioural safety topics to maintain compliance to regulatory requirements and company standards whilst delivering local and business SHE improvement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise to North West Operations regarding legislation and compliance associated with the implementation, and management, of robust work control standards and processes with a strong focus on risk management and behavioural safety standards, including compliance to the company's 20 Principles and associated guidance documents.
- Provide Transport SHE technical expertise in support of north-west operations. Liaise with the Distribution SHE Adviser on ADR and DGSA compliance issues.
- Take a lead in the management of human factors, facilitating critical task analyses and post incident assessment to reduce the risk of human error in the workplace.
- SHE Manager role on selected Plant TAR's leading the development and implementation of safe systems of work; ensuring compliance through effective communication and audit processes.
- Manage and deliver SHE training associated with work control processes; and take a lead on behavioural safety training. Coach, influence and help develop personnel to contribute towards improved SHE performance.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Postgraduate Diploma Occupational Health & Safety (Loughborough Uni or NEBOSH)
- Extensive understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
- Strong safety leadership
- Key competencies: Initiative; concern for standards; strong influencing, coaching and persuading skills; excellent communicator; and a committed and flexible approach to work.
