SRG are currently working very closely with a unique, growing biotechnology company committed to developing next generation vaccines with novel methods of delivery. Their ground-breaking technology is aimed at producing self-administered, thermally stable vaccines that can be widely distributed by mail. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to bring onboard an Analytical Scientist to join their growing team and execute complex research assignments, contributing to the discovery efforts for novel vaccines against infection using a wide range of molecular virology and cell culture-based systems.

Key responsibilities for an Analytical Scientist would include:

· Support and undertake experimental work to characterising and quantifying viral vectored vaccine candidates

· Maintain cell cultures for viral vector production, protein production and quantification

· Support the optimisation of assays aimed at testing the CMC, chemistry / manufacturing / control, attributes of vaccine candidates

· Assist in ordering supplies, making reagents, and maintaining the laboratory to conduct necessary experiments

  • Prepare written reports and present data for audiences inside and outside the company
  • Excellent command of laboratory techniques for handling and working with viruses (including expansion in cell culture).

· Assay development experience in relevant CMC assay of viral vaccine candidates together with Karl Fisher Titration and HPLC (Waters, Empower)

  • Use of relevant software/analysis strategies to interpret experimental data, place it into context, communicate conclusions and recommend next steps.
  • Demonstrate positive qualities and foster a collaborative team environment.

To be considered for the role of Analytical Scientist you will have:

  • M.Sc. (min) in Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biologyor related scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience. Industry background highly desirable, as is working knowledge of the CMC, chemistry / manufacturing / control, attributes of vaccine candidates
  • Experience working with formulation composition product development is highly desirable, preferably within the content of commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of diverse, tablets/ capsules/ dry powder compositions, final pharmaceutical product dosage forms would be desirable.
  • Depending on the areas of work involved, you will be expected to have any necessary vaccinations or health surveillance.
