We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Shift Technician to join a leading operator within the energy and critical infrastructure sector based in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled operations team responsible for maintaining and supporting critical electrical and utility plant within a 24/7 operational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of site infrastructure through a combination of planned maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting and operational support activities.
The Role
As an Electrical Shift Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of a range of critical plant and utility systems, helping to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime. You'll work closely with operations and engineering teams, responding to plant issues, supporting shutdown activities and contributing to ongoing reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities on electrical and utility plant
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults within a live operational environment
- Support the operation and maintenance of HV/LV systems, generators, switchgear and associated infrastructure
- Participate in plant inspections, fault investigations and root cause analysis activities
- Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and permit systems
- Work collaboratively with operations teams to maximise plant availability and performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support reliability improvement projects
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Electrician or equivalent electrical qualification
- Experience working within a power generation, utilities, critical facilities, marine, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, generators, switchgear or utility plant would be advantageous
- Comfortable working within a shift-based operational environment
