Quality Operations Technician

12 Month Temporary Contract

Southampton

Salary: £26,825 per annum

Are you looking for hands-on quality experience within a fast-paced, GMP-regulated environment? Our client, a leading manufacturer of cosmetic and skincare products, is looking for a Quality Operations Technician to join their site on a 12-month temporary contract. This is a great opportunity for someone who can start immediately and wants to build experience in quality within a supportive, hands-on team.

You'll join a small team of three, working closely with Operations to support inspection, compliance and sampling activity across the site as incoming component volumes ramp up.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out quality control inspections, audits and compliance checks on incoming components and manufacturing floor operations
  • Evaluating components and third-party products against specification
  • Conducting daily GMP compliance checks across the plant
  • Supporting Operations with basic in-process tests such as weight checks, torque tests, viscosity and pH testing
  • Escalating and reporting any out-of-spec products or processes to management
  • Supporting deviation handling, troubleshooting and CAPA effectiveness checks
  • Providing on-the-job guidance to Operations on quality and operational procedures

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in a QC or QA role within a manufacturing environment, OR a degree in scientific discipline, ideally with an understanding of GMP principles
  • Comfortable using standard inspection equipment such as scales, torque testers or pH meters (desirable, not essential for graduates)
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection and documentation
  • Good communication skills and confident working as part of a team
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Available to start immediately

Why this role is worth applying for:

  • Immediate start, with full training provided
  • Genuine hands-on GMP and quality experience within a well-established manufacturing company
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays
  • A supportive team environment, joining two other Quality colleagues on site
