Analytical Chemist (Mass Spectroscopy)
Leicestershire (commutable from Leicester, Nottingham and surrounding areas)
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000
12 month fixed term contract

SRG is working with a global manufacturer of petcare products, who research and develop new products for their global portfolio. Based in the Leicestershire area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their lab team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in mass spectroscopy (GC-MS, LC-MS) to grow and develop their skills in a leading company. Applications encouraged from people with industrial experience or PhD in analytical chemistry.


Role Description

  • Operating mass spectrometry systems to generate and report high-quality analytical data.
  • Preparing and extracting samples using established laboratory methods and protocols.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and records, including ELN documentation and routine instrument upkeep.
  • Supporting method development and validation, including troubleshooting and refining analytical techniques.
  • Ensuring laboratory compliance and knowledge sharing through training colleagues, communicating results, and adhering to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.


Requirements

  • Recent experience with analytical techniques such as FT-ICR-MS, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS
  • Experience from within an industrial laboratory, alternatively could be educated to PhD level with a background in analytical chemistry
  • Experience working in compliance with QSHE standards, including conducting risk assessments, SOP writing and routine equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of biological sample handling
  • Full right to work in the UK.
