Senior EHS Officer
Overview
Responsible for overseeing Health & Safety compliance and performance within a manufacturing environment, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements, recognised standards, and company policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Health & Safety programmes and promote safe working practices across the site.
- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and management system requirements.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to reduce future risk.
- Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver safety training, inductions, and awareness initiatives.
- Support contractor management, operational activities, and site projects from a Health & Safety perspective.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Minimum five years' experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering setting.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation, auditing, and management systems such as ISO 45001.
Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Health & Safety reporting systems.
