Senior EHS Officer

Overview
Responsible for overseeing Health & Safety compliance and performance within a manufacturing environment, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements, recognised standards, and company policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Health & Safety programmes and promote safe working practices across the site.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and management system requirements.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to reduce future risk.
  • Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver safety training, inductions, and awareness initiatives.
  • Support contractor management, operational activities, and site projects from a Health & Safety perspective.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering setting.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation, auditing, and management systems such as ISO 45001.

Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Health & Safety reporting systems.
