What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and mentoring the Quality team while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Taking ownership of the Quality Management System and ensuring accreditation and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained.
  • Managing the electronic Quality Management System and using data-driven insights to support performance improvement.
  • Leading investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions arising from audits, customer feedback, laboratory investigations, and non-conformances.
  • Acting as the lead contact for external audits and ensuring successful delivery of audit outcomes.
  • Planning and conducting internal audits that identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen compliance.
  • Driving change control and risk assessment programmes across the site.
  • Leading annual Quality Management Reviews and ensuring improvement actions are successfully implemented.
  • Collaborating with laboratory teams to maintain equipment compliance, calibration schedules, and quality records.
  • Providing quality insights and performance reporting to senior stakeholders.

What Will Help You Succeed

  • A degree in a scientific discipline coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience managing Quality Management Systems within a laboratory, technical, or scientific environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 17025 accreditation requirements and quality assurance best practice.
  • Experience leading internal audits, managing non-conformances, and implementing improvements.
  • The ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and champion quality standards across multiple teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience within food, microbiology, chemistry, or related laboratory environments would be highly advantageous.
