Maintenance Engineer

Location: Leek, England

Contract: 6 Months

Pay Rate: £35 per hour (Inside IR35 Umbrella)

Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation on a 6-month contract based in Leek. This is a day-based role supporting maintenance activities within a highly regulated industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment
  • Perform pipefitting and mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Conduct basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
  • Undertake function testing and signal checking
  • Execute flange repairs and maintenance
  • Isolate and maintain pumps and agitators safely
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and compliance standards
  • Support continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial environment
  • Strong background in pipework, pumps, vessels, and flanges
  • Basic electrical fault-finding capability
  • Experience with equipment isolation procedures (LOTO)
  • Hands-on experience within one or more of the following industries:
  • Chemical / Petrochemical
  • Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
  • FMCG / Manufacturing
  • Oil & Gas / Refinery
  • Power Generation / Waste-to-Energy / Steel

Candidate Profile

  • Strong practical, hands-on engineering skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Flexible and adaptable to site requirements

Additional Information

  • Inside IR35 (Umbrella only)
  • Immediate availability or short notice preferred
  • Local candidates or those willing to commute to Leek are highly desirable
