🕒 4 on / 4 off rolling day shift (07:00-17:45)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a QA Scientist - Microbiology to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Worthing. This role offers the opportunity to work within a quality-focused laboratory environment, supporting the testing and release of products while ensuring compliance with GMP and microbiological standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological testing of non-sterile production and stability samples.
  • Conduct water bioburden testing and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Calibrate, maintain and operate laboratory equipment.
  • Analyse and accurately document test results in line with SOPs and GMP requirements.
  • Review and verify testing and environmental monitoring data generated by colleagues.
  • Support investigations, including OOS (Out of Specification) events and CAPA activities.
  • Assist with equipment and method validation activities.
  • Participate in audits, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • GCSEs/A-Levels in a scientific discipline, with a degree or HNC in Microbiology or a related science being advantageous.
  • Knowledge of routine microbiological techniques.
  • An understanding and appreciation of GxP/GMP environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence using computer systems and laboratory documentation processes.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
