Meter Reader - Field-Based (Contract)

Locations: Multiple (Leinster & Munster regions)

Overview

We are currently recruiting for Meter Readers to support a large-scale utility project across several regional locations. This is a field-based position involving travel along planned routes to collect and record water consumption data using both manual and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel across designated routes to carry out meter readings
  • Collect data via both manual and automated reading systems
  • Use handheld devices and GPS equipment to log accurate readings
  • Access meter chambers, including opening covers and clearing water where required
  • Ensure all readings are recorded in line with project requirements and KPIs
  • Adhere to strict health & safety standards
  • Provide support across additional field projects as needed

Requirements

  • Full, clean driving licence (essential)
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile, lone-working role
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Basic IT proficiency (handheld devices, tablets, GPS systems)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to follow planned routes
  • Good time management and ability to meet targets
  • Strong awareness of safety practices in field environments
  • Reliable, practical, and proactive approach
