Shift QC Technician - 3 months temp (reviewed on monthly basis afterwards)

Accrington, Lancashire (commutable from North Manchester, Preston and surrounding areas)

Pay - £14 - £17 per hour (inclusive of shift uplifts)

Hours - 35 hours per week shift pattern based on 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am rolling rota, 5 days a week

A driver's licence with access to a car will be needed as the site is difficult to get to

SRG is working with a global manufacturer of industrial speciality chemicals who are currently looking to add to their QC team on an interim basis. Initially the job would just be for an interim period of 3 months (then reviewed on a monthly basis afterwards) and would suit someone with a background in chemistry laboratory work from either a university project or equivalent work in the chemicals industry. Applications are encouraged from graduates or early careers chemists. Training in laboratory techniques will be provided.

Role Description

  • Analytical chemistry testing of raw materials to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Maintaining laboratory databases and keeping accurate records of results
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety guidelines
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • General laboratory housekeeping

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or A-level chemistry with hands on experience in a laboratory
  • Experience using analytical techniques would be beneficial (liquid and gas chromatography, viscometry, FTIR)
  • Willing to work a rotating shift pattern
  • Driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • Full right to work in the UK
