Refrigeration Technician - Shift Role

We are currently working with a leading facilities and utilities services provider to recruit an experienced Refrigeration Technician for a high-profile, technically advanced site in west Dublin

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to join a well-established team supporting critical HVAC and refrigeration systems in a regulated, fast-paced environment.


The Role

Reporting to the on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and optimisation of a range of HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring high performance, efficiency, and compliance at all times.

You will work as part of a shift team supporting a 24/7 operation on a large-scale industrial facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Maintain and support equipment including AHUs, chillers, heat pumps and ventilation systems
  • Carry out system repairs, component replacement and performance adjustments
  • Support commissioning and optimisation of plant systems
  • Recommend upgrade and refurbishment solutions to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards and contract requirements
  • Contribute to overall site uptime through effective maintenance practices

Experience & Qualifications

  • F-Gas Category 1 (or equivalent refrigeration qualification)
  • Strong background in HVAC / building services or industrial refrigeration
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance, service or commissioning role
  • Proven fault-finding experience across mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Strong understanding of HVAC principles including air handling, heat transfer and controls
  • Experience using diagnostic tools for system performance monitoring

Desirable

  • Experience with industrial refrigeration systems (e.g. cold rooms, blast freezers, stability chambers)
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Experience working in ATEX-rated areas
