Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

An expanding engineering firm in the water sector is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects across Ireland. This role offers strong technical exposure, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the opportunity to work on innovative process solutions.

What You'll Do

• Support mechanical design activities from concept through detailed design and delivery
• Work with senior engineers and project teams to meet project requirements
• Liaise with clients at all project stages
• Carry out hydraulic/mechanical calculations and select appropriate equipment
• Assist in the development of P&IDs and mechanical drawings in coordination with the CAD team
• Provide technical support during procurement and installation phases
• Help ensure project documentation meets quality and compliance standards

Skills & Experience

• Level 7/8/9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience in water, wastewater, pumping, piping, or related fluid systems (desirable)
• Ability to manage and coordinate design tasks independently
• Practical site or installation experience (desirable)
