Automation Technician
We're seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support, install and troubleshoot automation, robotics and control systems across multiple customer sites. You'll work on a mix of maintenance, commissioning, and system upgrades as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, motion control, robotics, sensors, VFDs and control panels
- Carry out preventive/corrective maintenance and support upgrades & modifications
- Assist with FAT/SAT, site installation, commissioning and handover
- Work across several projects, collaborating with engineering teams and contributing to continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
- Level 7 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical/Fitting (or similar)
- 5+ years' experience in automation or maintenance
- Strong knowledge of PLC fault-finding, servo/motion systems and industrial networks (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Excellent craft skills with ability to work to fine tolerances
- Good communication and IT skills; CAD experience a bonus
- Full driver's licence
