Our Summer Internships are open to current students and recent graduates (within the last two years) and are designed to help you kickstart your career. You'll take on real responsibilities with genuine impact, working on meaningful projects and assignments. Throughout your internship, you'll learn from experts across GSK, develop your skills, and gain valuable experience to support wherever your future takes you.
Eligible Degrees / Level
Each role has specific degrees. Please review these carefully and only select preferences that match your field of study. Please remember internships are only open to students currently studying for a degree or those who have graduated within the last two years.
Language Requirement
Written and spoken fluency in English.
Locations
All internships are full‑time and based at one of the GSK sites listed below. Each job posting will confirm the specific location for that role. Please ensure you can commit to the site before applying. Travel and accommodation expenses are not provided.
- Barnard Castle - County Durham, Northeast England
- Stevenage - Hertfordshire
- London - GSK's global headquarters at The Earnshaw (Central London) and The Stanley Building (King's Cross)
Start Dates
Each role will start between the end of May and July.
Duration
The majority of our internships are for 12 weeks; however some are less depending on the role. Please ensure you can commit to the full duration before applying.
Salary
This is a paid internship. Salary will vary based on location and education level.

Role 1 - Quality and Regulatory Inspection Intern - Barnard Castle
Eligible Degrees: Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality/Regulatory, Supply Chain/Operations
About the Role
You will join the Site Inspection Readiness team within Quality, working with partners across Supply Chain and other functions. The team ensures the site is prepared for regulatory inspections by coordinating readiness activities, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting live inspection events. They help the site meet global health authority expectations through document preparation, evidence gathering, and operational readiness.
What You'll Experience
- Regulatory Audit Preparation - Supporting documentation, evidence and process readiness.

Role 2 - Digital & Technology Data Analytics Intern - Stevenage

About the Role
You may be placed in either Development & Chief Medical Officer Digital and Tech (DevCMO Tech) or Scientific Data Capture. DevCMO Tech delivers digital and data solutions that accelerate late‑stage medicines and supports areas such as Clinical Operations, Biostatistics and Regulatory. Interns help explore new technologies (AI/ML, analytics, automation), support strategic projects, and create clear communications for senior leaders. Scientific Data Capture focuses on systems that collect and manage scientific data across lab and computational workflows. Interns contribute to improving data capture processes, supporting digital tools, and helping ensure scientific insights are accessible and reliable. Both placements offer cross‑functional experience and the chance to strengthen digital, analytical and communication skills within GSK R&D.
What You'll Experience
- Conduct market and trend analysis across technology, AI and life sciences.
- Review decision‑related data to identify workflow gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Develop prototypes such as recommendation tools, structured templates, or knowledge‑capture solutions.

Role 3 - Communications, Marketing and User Experience (Ux) Intern - Stevenage

Join Global Supply Chain (GSC) Digital & Tech - Culture, Engagement & Capability, a team that supports Digital & Tech colleagues and their customers across 39 manufacturing sites worldwide. With team members based globally, the organisation drives digital fluency, continuous learning, culture and engagement initiatives, and communication strategies that keep teams connected and informed. The group plays a key role in strengthening employee experience, promoting collaboration, and supporting digital transformation across a large and diverse global network.
What You'll Experience
- Support campaigns across Digital Fluency, Workvivo channels, learning initiatives, and culture‑building programmes.
- Contribute to user‑focused content using UX, communications, and marketing principles.

Role 4 - Discovery Biology & Screening Intern (Lab-based)- Stevenage
Eligible Degrees: Have received or working towards life-sciences degree
About the Role
Join the Discovery Biology & Screening (DBS UK) team, which operates at the earliest stages of drug discovery. The department designs and runs biological experiments, screens compound libraries to identify potential drug candidates, and generates critical biological data used by downstream research teams. You will work alongside experienced scientists, contributing to real experimental activities and gaining hands‑on insight into how early discovery science fuels the medicines of the future.
What You'll Experience
- Learn core lab techniques including buffer preparation, experimental setup, and general lab operations.
- Shadow scientists working across screening campaigns and assay development activities.
- Support basic data production and prepare simple visualisations or summaries for project teams.
- Gain insight into how screening identifies promising compounds and informs decision‑making across the R&D pipeline.
Role 5 - Governance, Risk and Compliance - London
Eligible Degrees: Open to any degree however Business Management, IT, Project Management or similar preferred
About The Roles
You may be placed in one of three areas: Global Corporate Government Affairs & Policy (GCGAP), Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) - Digital & Tech, or the GRC Cyber Security Office (CSO). GCGAP focuses on global policy, science and technology regulation, and R&D advocacy, giving exposure to how GSK engages governments and shapes external policy environments. GRC - Digital & Tech partners with technology teams to ensure compliant, resilient digital product delivery, embedding risk‑based approaches and enabling AI‑driven transformation. The Cyber Security Office centres on cyber governance, process mapping, data analytics, and developing AI‑enabled compliance tools to protect GSK's systems and digital assets. Across all departments, you will gain experience in stakeholder engagement, analysis, and understanding how governance, policy and risk support innovation across GSK.
What You'll Experience
- Support policy, advocacy and research activities, including preparing messaging, case studies and briefings.
- Conduct research projects, attend external policy or political events, and share insights with teams.

Role 6 - Product Strategy & Marketing Intern - London
Eligible Degrees: Life Sciences (e.g., Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry) or Marketing or Business‑related degrees
About the Role
You may be placed in one of three areas: Global Product Strategy - Oncology, Global Product Strategy - Specialty Care, or Commercial Enterprise AI - Content & Channels Acceleration (GSKpro). The Oncology team translates scientific innovation into global commercial strategies, supporting disease awareness, launch readiness and cross‑functional collaboration across markets. The Specialty Care team focuses on strategic brand planning for specialty medicines, including launch preparation, campaign development, KPI tracking and operational support. The GSKpro team builds digital products for global commercial teams, contributing to platform enhancements, business analysis, training materials, change management and exposure to AI‑enabled tools. Across all placements, you'll gain insight into how commercial strategy, product development and digital innovation shape the success of GSK's global medicines.
What You'll Experience
- Experience in marketing projects, commercial execution and digital marketing.
- Understanding of disease awareness, launch readiness and campaign development.
- Exposure to KPI tracking, performance analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.

Role 7 - Decision Sciences & AI Intern - London
Eligible Degrees: Data science, Computer Science, Maths, Statistics, Economics or Engineering
About the Role
Join the Decision Science & AI team within Enterprise AI, working closely with the Commercial organisation. The team uses data, machine learning, and AI to generate predictions and insights that enhance engagement with Healthcare Professionals and support smarter, data‑driven decisions across global Sales and Marketing teams.
What You'll Experience
- Deliver a full AI or machine learning project, from scoping and data preparation through to deployment.
- Build experience in data understanding, feature preparation, model training, and evaluation.
- Learn how to interpret model outputs and translate them into meaningful insights for commercial decision‑makers.

Role 8 - Operational Tech Cyber Security Intern - London
Eligible Degrees: Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field
About the Role
Join the Operational Technology (OT) CyberHub within GSK's Cyber Security Office. The team designs, deploys, and operates cybersecurity capabilities that protect OT environments across GSK's global manufacturing and supply network. Their mission is to embed secure‑by‑design practices, reduce cyber risk, and defend critical OT systems from evolving threats.
What You'll Experience
- Support and enhance OT security operations, including deployment of security controls and monitoring activities.
- Participate in OT risk assessments, help identify vulnerabilities and threats, and contribute to mitigation activities and risk reports.
- Assist in tracking cyber security initiatives, reporting on project progress, and monitoring risk‑reduction metrics.
- Develop an understanding of secure design principles, OT security architecture, and how security is embedded into operational environments.

About the Role
Join the Global UX, Design & Research team within Enterprise AI - Commercial & Medical. The team provides design leadership and best‑practice guidance across GSK's digital product portfolio, ensuring all AI, marketing, field‑force, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and data products are accessible, customer‑centric, and aligned with GSK's design standards. You'll collaborate with designers, researchers, product teams, engineers, and agency partners to help shape intuitive and impactful digital experiences.

About the Role
Our Legal & Compliance Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a global biopharma environment. Interns will develop a real understanding of the role of an in‑house lawyer and the broad scope of legal and compliance work within a corporate, hybrid office setting.
Throughout the programme, interns will complete rotations across multiple Legal and Compliance business units, supported by dedicated mentors and supervisors who provide tailored professional and career development guidance.
