Role: Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Commutable from the West Yorkshire region

SRG are currently recruiting for an EC&I Engineer to lead maintenance strategy, compliance and technical delivery across a processing environment. This is a hands‑on role with real autonomy, responsibility and visibility.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Lead site-wide EC&I maintenance strategy, proactive and reactive
  • Act as Responsible Person for electrical work, isolations & LOTOTO (415V/110V/240V)
  • Ensure compliance with DSEAR, COMAH and functional safety standards
  • Oversee all instrument calibration, loop checks and verification
  • Maintain and develop DCS systems in partnership with automation/IT
  • Provide EC&I technical leadership across all projects, including design reviews, FAT/SAT and commissioning
  • Support HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety case development
  • Ensure accurate technical documentation and CMMS data
  • Work cross‑functionally with Operations, Maintenance and Projects to improve safety, reliability and efficiency.

Criteria:

  • C&G 18th Edition & Electrical Installation
  • DSEAR / COMPEX experience
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and contractor management skills
  • Knowledge of HSWA, CDM, DSEAR and safe systems of work
  • Confident with RAMS, PTW and risk assessments
  • Clear communication and solid stakeholder management
  • IEC 61508 / 61511 SIL knowledge.
