Technical Service Specialist (Cold Flow) required, based in Cheshire on a permanent basis. Requiring recent knowledge and experience of cold flow additives, as well as excellent knowledge of modelling techniques. Oil refinery experience is highly desirable.

SRG are working with a multinational company who specialise in the creation of speciality chemicals for a range of markets. They are now looking to add a Technical Service Specialist to their Fuel Additives Technical Service Team to focus on cold flow additives on a permanent basis, based at their site in Cheshire. This role will see the successful candidate supporting external customers by providing technical service involving cold flow additives, their behaviours and supporting the ongoing use of products. This is achieved by providing field support, supporting field trials and troubleshooting issues and problems. Candidates with extensive knowledge and experience of cold flow additives are encouraged to apply, either through formulating, testing the applications or through previous technical and field service support. Oil refinery experience is also highly desirable. Travel within the UK and potentially outside of the UK will be involved.

Role / Description

  • Provide technical field expertise on the application of cold flow improver additives.
  • Serve as the main technical point of contact, including visiting customer sites as required.
  • Troubleshoot additive usage and support customers in meeting fuel specifications and achieving optimal blending performance.
  • Develop and implement blend models and additive response capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams on laboratory studies and contribute field‑based insights to R&D programmes.
  • Deliver technical guidance and support for additive solutions, including laboratory work carried out either internally or at customer locations.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and modelling outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form.
  • Assist with training staff and customers in testing techniques and additive applications.
  • Maintain laboratory areas safely and tidily in accordance with local standards and complete risk assessments as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Recent knowledge and experience of cold flow additives
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of modelling techniques
  • Oil refinery experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
