Technical Service Chemist
Technical Service Chemist required, based in Cheshire on a permanent basis. Requiring recent experience of strong wet chemistry analysis, with experience of analytical techniques used in the Oils/Fuels/Petrochemical/Fuel Additives industries desirable but not essential. Recent Chemistry graduates will be considered.

SRG are working with a multinational company who specialise in the creation of speciality chemicals for a range of markets. They are now looking to add a Technical Service Chemist to their Fuel Additives Technical Service Team on a permanent basis, based at their site in Cheshire. This role will see you support external customers including application testing of fuel additives using a range of techniques, as well as wet chemistry analysis to measure physical properties such as viscosity and density. Candidates with strong wet chemistry analysis are encouraged to apply, including recent Chemistry graduates as full training can be provided. Experience of analytical techniques used in the Oils/Fuels/Petrochemical/Fuel Additives industries desirable but not essential.

Role / Description
- Providing technical support related to the application of refinery fuel additives.
- Executing technical service projects and providing data to support the business in a timely fashion under direction and priority.
- Responsible for maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
- Undertaking testing according to standard industry methods, to support fuel additive application.
- Communicate and report technical information to the technical and sales team, as well as external customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Potential to undertake customer visits to support and conduct trials as required.
- Conducting tests and collating technical response as required in support of customer tenders.
- Maintaining laboratory areas safe and tidy according to local standards and carry out and risk assessments as appropriate.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
- Strong wet chemistry analysis including testing density, viscosity, Karl Fischer, freezing point etc.
- Experience of analytical techniques used in the Oils/Fuels/Petrochemical/Fuel Additives industries desirable but not essential.
