About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG production facility in Liverpool.
This role is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site. You will work on a rotating shift pattern, covering both days and nights, to maintain and optimise high-speed manufacturing machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Fault Diagnosis: Use root cause analysis to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process optimisation and reliability projects to enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work adheres to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to prioritise maintenance tasks and support operational goals.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally within FMCG or similar high-speed manufacturing environments.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex faults and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- PLC Knowledge: Experience with PLC fault-finding and automation systems is highly desirable.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
