We are seeking an enthusiastic Materials Characterisation Scientist to join a leading global pharmaceutical organisation.

ROLE SUMMARY


Our clients Materials Characterisation Team are seeking an enthusiastic scientist to join their team. You will be responsible for carrying out experiments to characterise and compare different suppliers of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) using a range of analytical methods. These techniques will include, but not limited to, particle size analysis, light microscopy & SEM, thermal analysis, solid form identification, spectroscopic methods, powder flow & density. This data will be used to assess the potential risk to our drug product manufacturing processes by making this change and may include performance prediction assessment using small-scale formulation prediction methods. The data comparison will be summarised in a technical report.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute laboratory experiments to appropriately characterise materials.
  • Perform experiments in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP), established business processes and protocols, and applicable SOPs.
  • Document laboratory work in a detailed, clear and timely manner.
  • Summarize results in a technical report.
  • Participate in laboratory processes including My Green Lab and 5S.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKLLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant scientific field i.e. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Experience desired
  • Ability to work independently, and to document results and data conclusions through presentations and technical reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on clarity of communication
  • Ability to follow departmental procedures, with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and pro-active attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to deliver to strict timelines whilst effectively balancing multiple priorities.
    Interpersonal skills and ability to work with personnel at all levels.
