Job Description: NSPP Technician 2

Location: Bracknell

Contract Length: 6 months

Working Hours: 36 hours/week

Pay Rate: £15.16/hour (28k per annum, perm equivalent)

Role Purpose:

The Technician will support glasshouse operations and seed processing activities to ensure high-quality plant production and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily glasshouse tasks including sowing seeds, cross-pollination, transplanting plantlets, tissue sampling, harvesting and threshing plants.
• Conduct seed processing activities: cleaning, automated counting, labeling, and registration.
• Monitor pests and diseases in the glasshouse environment.
• Update DH plant material tracking and data analysis files.
• Ensure adherence to glasshouse HSE standards.

Skills & Competencies:

• Enthusiastic and consistent approach with willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in horticultural or agricultural production environments.
• Awareness of plant growth and care requirements in glasshouses.
• Ability to work in a team, follow set procedures, and maintain attention to detail.
• Physical stamina for standing long periods, lifting, and transporting materials.

Education (Desirable):

• Horticultural experience.
• Experience in glasshouse environments.
• Degree or equivalent in biological or agricultural sciences.
