Facilities Engineer

We're looking for a Facilities Engineer to join a leading innovation and technology organisation in the advanced therapies sector. About the Role
As Facilities Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing assets and maintenance strategies across multiple UK sites. You'll lead planned maintenance activities, ensure statutory compliance, and provide expert oversight on critical safety systems including legionella, asbestos, LEV, and LOTO. You'll also act as Duty Holder for nominated compliance areas.
This role offers a blend of strategic planning and hands-on engineering, working closely with internal teams, third-party providers, and landlords to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facilities operations.
You will cover 3 sites, with varied travel throughout the year. Along with the ability to work from home 1-2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust maintenance strategy across all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Manage asset tracking, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
- Lead energy management initiatives and monitor performance indicators.
- Coordinate facilities management in shared environments (e.g., hospitals, office buildings).
- Represent and lead soft FM provision across the organisation.
About You
You're a time-served or degree-qualified engineer with at least 5 years of practical experience in facilities maintenance. You bring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a proactive mindset. You're comfortable working independently, managing contractors, and using CMMS systems.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Hard FM oversight in manufacturing/lab environments.
- Contractor and team management.
- Safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- CMMS operation and configuration.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel across UK sites.
- Desirable: IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
