R&D Scientist
Job Title: R&D Scientist - Global Biopharmaceutical
Contract: 12 months
Location: Slough
Salary: £17.61 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is a great opportunity for a graduate in a biochemistry related degree looking for their first role in the industry. 0-2 years industry experience is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Support the design, planning, and execution of studies that contribute to technology or process/product development projects. Carry out experiments within defined scopes and timelines and analyze data to inform next steps. Delivery:
- Supports understanding of problem statements and study rationale to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Assists in the development and execution of high-throughput (HTP) workflows for process studies under supervision.
- Helps with setup and configuration of HTP equipment to enable reliable monitoring and data capture.
- Flags potential risks to study execution and contributes to identifying mitigation strategies.
- Contributes to the preparation of study plans and documentation in collaboration with senior team members.
- Executes HTP studies according to established protocols and timelines and performs preliminary data analysis to support process development.
- Participates in efforts to improve HTP workflows for efficiency and integration into broader development pipelines.
- Engages with cross-functional teams to provide purification support during technology implementation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelors/Masters in Biochemistry, Biology or Biotechnology
- Experince with protein chemistry would be desirable.
- previous laboratory experience in analytical techniques.
- understanding of Downstream processing or Purification of proteins
- Handling of automated liquid handling system
- Data analysis and interpretation.
- Mechanistic modelling or Machine Learning would be desirable
