About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the food manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join their high-performing production team in the Cork region. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across safety, quality, efficiency, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate shift teams to meet production KPIs and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hygiene protocols
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, logistics, technical, and maintenance
- Manage labour efficiency and control operational costs
- Support and deputise for the Production Manager when required
- Maintain accurate HR and operational records
- Drive initiatives to improve product quality and system/process efficiency
Candidate Profile
We're looking for a dynamic and proactive leader with:
- Minimum 2 years' supervisory/management experience in food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of production systems (SAP/MES/SCADA experience highly desirable)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
- A third-level qualification in a relevant field is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong numerical/reporting skills
