Position Overview:
The position supports laboratory-scale sample generation and evaluation for customer-driven technical programs, product and process R&D initiatives, and manufacturing process support. The role involves hands-on execution and interpretation of test results to inform product development and process optimization. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory and production equipment, supporting scale-up activities, and ensuring accurate documentation of procedures and results.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with manufacturing and research teams and may directly interface with customers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data and product solutions. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to dynamic workflows, and operate under the guidance of multiple technical supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and evaluate lab-scale samples in support of customer technical requests, R&D efforts, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine testing, interpret data, and provide recommendations to guide project decisions.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory and production equipment as needed for testing and scale-up support.
  • Accurately document all procedures, observations, and results in lab notebooks and digital records.
  • Conduct internet and literature searches to support technical problem solving and project development.
  • Adhere strictly to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety), SOPs, and Responsible Care® standards to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions and with external stakeholders as required.
  • Provide support to ensure the quality and consistency of products delivered to customers.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a lab and production setting with strict adherence to safety and quality procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Proficient in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with technical documentation and data recording systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work and potential customer interaction.

Additional Details:

  • Export Controls: This position may require access to export-controlled technology. Bayer will evaluate whether a deemed export license is necessary.
  • Work Location: On site (office-based at Kunia, HI facility)
  • Travel Requirement: No routine travel required
  • Shift Start Time: 7:00 AM
  • Driving Requirement: Yes - Use of Monsanto vehicle and/or more than 5,000 business miles annually
  • Production Classification: Production role
