SRG are currently working very closely with a unique, growing biotechnology company committed to developing next generation vaccines with novel methods of delivery. Their ground-breaking technology is aimed at producing self-administered, thermally stable vaccines that can be widely distributed by mail. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to bring onboard a Cell Biology Scientist to join their growing team and lead and execute complex research assignments, contributing to the discovery efforts for novel vaccines against infection using a wide range of molecular virology and cell culture-based systems.

Key responsibilities of the Cell Biology Scientist would include:

  • Running cell-based bioassays, western blotting, PCR and/or flow cytometry experiments.
  • Developing, validating and utilising new ELISAs to quantify immune responses.
  • Maintaining cell cultures for viral vector production, protein production and quantification
  • Conducting experiments, analysing and presenting data to the team.
  • Preparing written reports and presenting data for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Overseeing, implementing and maintaining Health & Safety policies within the company.

To be considered for the role of Cell Biology Scientist you will have:

  • A PhD in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or related discipline, or an MSc in relevant field with 1-2 years working experience, or equivalent industry working experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent handle of laboratory cell biology techniques with extensive experience in cell culture, ELISA, Western Blot, cell-based assays, PCR, and microscopy.
  • Proven assay development experience of ELISA and cell-based assays.
  • A working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within laboratory environments is essential but further training can be provided
  • Advantageous to have experience of handling and working with viruses.
