SRG is working with an innovative engineering organisation who produce highly advanced and technical products for a variety of industries across the world such as aerospace, security and defence. They are now looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join the team in North Ayrshire on a permanent basis to manage the companies purchasing, planning and logistics strategy.

The position will be based in Stevenson. The role will be 36 hours per week with a 4.5 day working week and half day Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain departmental budgets.
  • Drive tools and process improvements that affect purchasing and procurement workflows, with emphasis on automating tasks that are currently performed manually.
  • Lead the Supply Chain Team (Purchasing, Planning & logistics) in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed KPI's.
  • Manage and minimise any risks that may interrupt the supply chain.
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate the most cost effective and business appropriate agreements for the supply of materials and services.
  • Oversees and ensure proper production planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of manpower and machine requirements.
  • Chair the business Sales, Operations and Planning meeting
  • Implementing new technologies and staying alert to new trends in the sector

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • CIPS qualified preferred.
  • 5 Years in Supply Chain Management (Managing purchasing, planning and logistics)
  • Proven track record in effective leadership of employees
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Process and Procedurally orientated
  • Contract Management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing change programmes
